About Us
Club Information
SMART SPORT FC is a volunteer led youth football club, operating under SMART SPORT FOUNDATION LIMITED, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.
Since the first ever session in April 2021, attended by a handful of children at Lloyd Park in Croydon, the club has gone on to deliver organised football sessions for over 120 young people, as well as developing a number of coaches and youth mentors.
As a club, our priorities are:
• Developing ourselves and others,
• Creating a strong community and
• Fostering a love of the game
With these objectives in mind, we have fielded teams across several age groups in the renowned Tandridge Youth League.
We also maintains a strong commitment to creating a provision for females, with girls’ sessions led by a team of dedicated female coaches who have been supported by the Club to receive their FA Level 1 coaching certification.
The Club has also been nominated for prestigious grassroots football awards from the FA and Surrey Football Coaching Association.
We have developed excellent links with a number of professional clubs, such as West Ham United and Crystal Palace, providing opportunities for our coaches and players to visit professional academies to develop their football knowledge and experience.
As a volunteer organisation we are also strongly community focussed, and creating a strong sense of togetherness and belonging is a big part of our club culture.

April 2021
First ever session at Lloyd Park, Croydon immediately after the end of Covid19 lockdown. There was only 1 Coach (Usman) and 12 kids who joined through word-of-mouth.

July 2021
Club officially affiliates with Surrey FA as ‘SMART SPORT FC’.
August 2021
Club accepted as a new member to the Tandridge Youth Football League.
September 2021
U8 Boys team play first official SMART SPORT FC match in the Tandridge Youth Football League.

October 2021
Female coaching workshop in partnership with FA Mentor Sharon Muxworthy. Results in 5 new female coaches qualifying as FA-certified coaches through the Club.
November 2021
Female coach led girls sessions begin.

U10 Boys team enters the Tandridge Youth Football League.

May 2022
U8 and U10 Boys teams invited to Premier League Emerging Talent Tournament.
Inaugural End of Season awards. Awards for 70 kids and 20 volunteers.
Nominated for FA and Surrey Football Coaching Association grassroots awards for season 2021/22.
June 2022
U10 Boys take part in ‘Play on the Pitch’ at Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace FC.

Girls team enters first ever tournament at Surrey FA Women’s Euros festival, Raynes Park
Boys coaches visit West Ham United ‘Academy of Football’ for coach mentoring

Second season of affiliation to Surrey FA. U7, U8, U9 and U11 Boys teams enrolled with Tandridge Youth Football League
